LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have signed defenseman Jacob Muzzin to a three-year entry level contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. The Kings have also activated center Jarret Stoll from the injured reserve list and he is expected to return to the Kings line-up tonight.

Muzzin, 20, currently plays for the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He leads the OHL in points by a defenseman with 46, which also leads his team, and he has also recorded 10 goals and 58 penalty minutes in 37 games this season with the Greyhounds. One season ago, Muzzin was named to the OHL's Western Conference All-Star roster.

A native of Woodstock, Ontario, the 6-foot-2, 216-pound Muzzin was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth-round (141st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He also is the third player within the last three years to sign with the Kings organization, joining former Greyhound forward Wayne Simmonds and defenseman Andrew Campbell.

Stoll, 27, has missed the Kings' last seven games due to a lower body injury. In 33 games this season, Stoll has 25 points (10-1525) and 22 penalty minutes. His 10 goals rank fourth on the team, he has a plus-9 rating, which is third best on the team, he is tied for second on the team with three-game winning goals and he leads the team in face-off percentage (54.6).
