Chicago's Peter Mannino Named Reebok/AHL Player Of The Week
January 4, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.... The American Hockey League announced today that Chicago Wolves goaltender Peter Mannino has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 3, 2010. In three games, Mannino stopped 100 of 104 shots and led the Wolves to three victories.
On Wednesday night vs. Houston, Mannino made 22 saves as Chicago notched a 5-1 victory over the visiting Aeros. He then made 45 stops in a 4-1 New Year's Eve victory at Peoria, falling just 37.6 seconds short in his shutout bid. In recognition of his achievement, Mannino will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolves home game.
In his second professional season out of the University of Denver, Mannino has a record of 8-2-0 with a 2.10 GAA and a.935 save percentage in 12 appearances for the Wolves in 2009-10.
