Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated left wing Luc Robitaille from the injured reserve list and have assigned forwards Jeff Giuliano and Ryan Flinn to the Monarchs, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today. Robitaille is expected to play tonight for the Kings in St. Louis, as is center Derek Armstrong.
Robitaille, 39, was placed on the injured reserve list on November 3 (retroactive to October 29) with a fractured lower right leg. He missed the last nine Kings games due to the injury and in 11 games this season, the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder from Montreal has recorded seven points (4-3=7) and four penalty minutes while posting a plus/minus rating of plus-five. In 1,377 career NHL games with the Kings, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, Robitaille has 1,377 points (657-720=1377) and 1,129 penalty minutes. He is also four goals shy of breaking Marcel Dionne's Kings all-time record for goals scored.
Giuliano, 26, has played in seven games with the Kings this season, including his Kings/NHL debut on November 5. He has not recorded a point while accumulating two penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound native of Nashua, New Hampshire, has also played in seven games with the Monarchs, where he has five points (3-2=5) and four penalty minutes while posting a plus/minus rating of plus-six.
Flinn, 25, played in one game with the Kings this season after being recalled by the club on November 9 from Manchester. With the Monarchs, he has one assist in five games this season while leading the team with 38 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 248-pound native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, has one goal and 79 penalty minutes in 30 career NHL games - all with the Kings.
Armstrong, 32, has missed the last five Kings games - and 10 of the last 11 games -- due to a groin injury. In 11 games this season, he has 10 points (2-8=10) and six penalty minutes while posting a plus/minus rating of plus-four. In 220 career NHL games with the Kings, Rangers, Ottawa Senators and New York Islanders, he has 102 points (37-65=102) and 123 penalty minutes. Armstrong is a 6-foot, 190-pound native of Ottawa.
