Milwaukee Admirals News Release

OVERALL...

The Admirals (7-4-0-1) enter this week's action in fourth place in the West Division with 15 points. The Admirals are coming off a seven-game winning streak and an eight-game point streak that was snapped in Chicago on Saturday night when the Ads fell to the Wolves 3-2. Milwaukee is two points behind third place Omaha, but have six games in hand with the Knights. Houston tops the division, as well as the Western Conference with 30 points and a 14-6-1-1 record. The Rampage, coming off a 1-9 stretch, sit in seventh place in the division with 11 points and a 5-12-0-1 mark thus far this season.

VS. SAN ANTONIO...

Milwaukee and San Antonio do battle tonight in their first of eight match-ups this season. Last year the Admirals were 5-4-0-1 versus the Rampage, including 3-2 at the Bradley Center. The last time these two teams squared off was on April 17 of last year when the Ads won 6-1 in San Antonio and Milwaukee netminder Seamus Kotyk scored a goal. Tonight's game is also the front-end of a home-and-home series between the two clubs. This will mark the third time this season the Admirals have played a home-and-home set, recording a perfect 4-0 mark in those contests thus far this year.

VS. HOUSTON...

Milwaukee and Houston meet for the second time this season and the first at the Toyota Center. Milwaukee won the first contest between the two teams 6-1 at the Bradley Center on October 28. It was the first win of the season for the Admirals, as well as the first victory in a seven game winning streak. All-time versus the Aeros, the Admirals have posted a 40-23-2-6 record, including a 19-12-1-4 mark in Houston.

UN-LUCKY SEVEN...

When the Ads fell to the Wolves on Saturday night it marked the second time in three years that Admirals came one game shy of tying the franchise mark of eight wins in a row, set from March 10-22, 1989. In 2003-04 Milwaukee won seven straight from Feb. 1-15, but fell in game eight to: who else but the Wolves by a score of 3-1. What is impressive about the Admirals latest win streak is that it comes on the heels of a four game losing streak (0-3-0-1) that the team suffered through to start the season.

BUSY HOLIDAY...

The Admirals enter their busiest stretch of the season this week when they play five games in six nights beginning Tuesday night. After this evening affair, the Ads will board a plane for San Antonio where the team will play the Rampage in the back end of the home-and-home series. They are off on Thanksgiving before traveling to Houston for a game with the Aeros on Friday, back to San Antonio on Saturday, and finally back once again to Houston for a 5 pm game. It is the second consecutive season that the team has spent Thanksgiving in the Lone Star State.

WELCOME BACK...

Nashville has reassigned left wing Simon Gamache to the Admirals on a conditioning assignment. The Thetford Mines, PQ native was the Admirals leading scorer last season with 86 points (29-57) in 80 games, finishing fifth in the American Hockey League in points. Gamache, who was selected as a First Team AHL All-Star last season, was sixth in the league in assists and power play tallies. Over the past two seasons, he has 47 goals and 84 assists for 131 points in an Admirals Sweater. The speedy winger was the second leading scorer in the AHL in the 2004 Calder Cup Playoffs, helping the Admirals capture their first professional title.

TRANSACTIONS...

The Admirals have had quite a bit of roster movement over the last week, including getting Gamache back on a conditioning assignment. Milwaukee released defenseman Ryan Glenn, who notched an assist in three games with the Ads, and recalled center Rich Peverley from the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Peverley, who had notched 15 points in 10 games with Reading, picked up an assist on Saturday night in Chicago in his first game with the Admirals. In addition, center Vern Fiddler was recalled by the Predators last Friday and registered a shot on goal in ten minutes of ice-time for the Preds in their 4-2 loss to Minnesota on Saturday night. Last, but certainly not least, the Ads recalled defenseman Nathan Lutz from the Rockford IceHogs (UHL).

THE CENTURY MARK...

In the Admirals win over Hamilton on last Wednesday night, Milwaukee Head Coach Claude Noel notched his 100th regular season win as the Ads bench boss. The Kirkland, ONT native has posted a 100-51-7-13 mark in two plus seasons as the Milwaukee head man. Noel is the only coach in Admirals history to have led teams to back-to-back 100-point seasons. The 2004 AHL Coach of the Year also led the Admirals to their only professional championship when the team captured the Calder Cup Title in 04.

OVER THE AIR AND ON THE WEB...

The Admirals have a new flagship radio station this season in Milwaukee's ESPN Radio 1510 AM (days)/1290 AM (nights). Aaron Sims will call all of the hard-hitting end-to-end action. Sims comes to the Admirals after calling play-by-play for Wisconsin Badger Hockey on Wisconsin Public Television. In addition, the team has a one-hour hockey magazine dubbed "Milwaukee Admirals Center Ice" that airs every Tuesday from 6-7 pm on ESPN Radio. Fans can watch all Admirals games, home and on the road, live on the internet via B2 Networks. Simply go the Admirals website at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com and click on the B2 logo.

WESTWARD HO...

The Admirals have picked up 13 out of a possible 16 points in games versus West Division opponents thus far this season, outscoring those teams 34-16 in the process. In addition, Milwaukee is a perfect 4-0 in intra-divisional games at the Bradley Center this season. However, their fortune has not been quite as good against North Division foes. Milwaukee is just 1-3 against teams from the North.
