Kings Assign Cammalleri To Manchester
November 7, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings have assigned center Michael Cammalleri to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Cammalleri, 21, appeared in two games for the Kings this season recording zero points and zero penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, missed the first eight games of the season after suffering an MCL sprain of his left knee during a preseason contest versus the San Jose Sharks in Bakersfield on September 20. Originally selected by the Kings in the second round (49th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Cammalleri has appeared in 30 career NHL games, all with the Kings, and has recorded eight points (5-3=8) with 22 penalty minutes. Cammalleri has also appeared in 13 career games with the Monarchs recording 20 points (5-15=20) and 12 penalty minutes. He will wear jersey number 13 when the Monarchs face the Worcester IceCats (7:05 p.m.) at the Centrum Centre later tonight.
The Kings (7-5-0-0) continue their four-game road trip tomorrow in Carolina versus the Hurricanes at 4 p.m. (PT). The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net, ESPN Radio 710 - KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.
Following tonight's game in Worcester, the Monarchs host the Portland Pirates on Saturday, November 8 at 7:35 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena as part of T-Shirt Night, with the first 5,000 fans receiving a free Monarchs T-shirt courtesy of Crowely Foods. The Monarchs then close week five of the AHL schedule when they host the Albany River Rats at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday, November 9 at 4:05 p.m. The first 3,000 kids 12 and under at Sunday's game will receive a free Monarchs practice jersey courtesy of Jiffy Lube.
