The Manitoba Moose announced that they have recalled right wing Jesse Schultz from the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL.

Schultz, 21, has been playing for Columbia since the start of the 2003-04 season. He was assigned to the Inferno on October 5/03 and had played in nine ECHL games and posted six points (5G, 1A) with four penalty minutes. The Strasbourg, Saskatchewan native was tied for fifth among Inferno players in scoring and leading the Inferno in goal scoring. He was also tied for first among ECHL rookies in goal scoring.

Last season, he played with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The 6'1", 192 lb. forward had 104 points (53g, 51a) with 47 PIM in 72 WHL games to rank second in the league in both goals and points. In the 2003 WHL Playoffs, Schultz added 12 goals, 16 assists in 19 playoff games.

Schultz was signed as a free agent by the Vancouver Canucks on July 31, 2003. This is his first stint with Manitoba this season.
