Lehoux Released from Pro Tryout Contract

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have released left winger Jason Lehoux from his pro tryout contract.

So far in 2003-04, Lehoux has seen action in only one American Hockey League game with the Moose. In that time, he registered two penalty minutes.

Last season, the 24-year old played in 64 games with the Albany River Rats of the AHL, scoring 10 goals and adding 11 assists for 21 points. He was second on the team in penalty minutes with 175. All four totals were career-high marks.

Prior to this season, the Ste. Marie, PQ native had played his entire professional career in Albany. In 183 games, he scored 22 goals and added 24 assists for 46 points. He also had 411 penalty minutes. In four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior League, he played 151 games and netted 72 points (35 goals, 37 assists) and 657 penalty minutes with Rimouski, Rouyn-Noranda and Hull.

He was signed to a pro tryout contract by the Moose on October 5, 2003.
