June 4, 2021 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Kenosha, WI - Pitching and offense were clicking all night for Kenosha, as the Kingfish erupt for 17 hits and 10 runs to hand the Traverse City Pit Spitters their first loss of the season 10-3.

Kenosha was led by designated hitter Cam Redding. Redding made his season debut in a big way, hitting a two-run homer into the Fish Bowl in left field to put his team up 2-0 in the first. He would hit a ground-rule-double into the Bowl in the third and add a single in the fourth. He finished with three RBI's and a triple shy of the cycle.

Every Kingfish hitter recorded a hit in the win. McKay Barney, Kirk Liebert and Casey O'Laughlin joined Redding with multi-hit games.

Kenosha starter Ethan Peters threw five innings of shutout ball, only surrendering three hits. The bullpen took care of the rest, only giving up one hit through four innings, tallying six strikeouts.

For the Pit Spitters, Christian Faust extended his hitting streak to four games and Chris Monroe increased his to two. Johannes Haakenson increased his on-base streak to four games with a single in the second.

Haakenson also stole his team-leading fifth base of the season. Pit Spitters have swiped a bag in every game thus far, tallying 17 through five games.
