Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa - USA Hockey announced today that Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman, and captain, Keegan Ford, was named to the U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete at the World Junior A Challenge in Whitby, Ontario in mid-December.
Ford joins teammates Spenser Young and Willie Knierim to represent their country in the tournament. The team is led by Fargo Force head coach Cary Eades, and it exclusively features USHL players. Team USA has captured the gold medal in the World Junior A Challenge six of the last seven tournaments, including 2012, 2013 and 2014.
"We're really excited for Keegan. Any time you get to play for your country, it's a great honor, " Jason Lammers, head coach/GM of the Dubuque Fighting Saints said. "He's well-deserving of the honor, and we're excited to watch him play and go earn a medal at the tournament."
Most recently, Ford represented the United States in the 2012 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, where Team USA won first place. He also played in the CCM/USA Hockey All-Prospects Game in 2013.
The tournament will take place between the dates of December 13 and December 19. All games, except for the championship game, will air on FASTHockey.
