November 25, 2015 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Omaha Lancers News Release
Ralston, NE - Nathan Krusko scored the lone goal of the night and Zackarias Skog stopped all 25 shots he faced as the Omaha Lancers defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede 1-0 on Wednesday night. The 1-0 win was Omaha's second in their last three games inside Ralston Arena.
After two incredible saves by Sioux Falls' goaltender Stefanos Lekkas, it took quick passing to break the ice and give the Lancers a 1-0 lead. A scramble in front of the net finished with the puck rolling to the left of Lekkas and Austin Lemieux picked it up at the bottom of the right wing circle, spun, and sent a pass across the slot to an awaiting Nathan Krusko. After receiving the pass, Krusko fired the puck by a diving Stefanos Lekkas to give Omaha a 1-0 lead. The goal was Krusko's sixth of the season with assists from Austin Lemieux and Brian Williams.
In the third period the Stampede pulled Stefanos Lekkas for the extra-attacker. In the end, Omaha held off the late push for the 1-0 victory. Goaltender Zackarias Skog picked up his fifth win of the year and first shutout, denying all 25 shots he faced.
After having Thursday and Frida off, the Omaha Lancers return for Leap-for-a-Cure Night on Saturday against the Fargo Force at 7:05 p.m.! The night is presented by Methodist Health System and will feature a charity silent jersey auction through the first and second period. Can't make it? Fans can WATCH live to the game beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Valpak Pregame Show on www.FASTHockey.com only.
