GAMBLERS SPLIT IN SIOUX CITY
The Green Bay Gamblers split their two-game series with the Sioux City Musketeers this past weekend. After posting a 3-1 win on Friday, the Gamblers fell 2-1 on Saturday. The Gamblers sit one-point back of first place in the USHL Eastern Division with a record of 10-6-1.
Adam Huska made 31 saves to backstop the Gamblers to a 3-1 win over the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. After a scoreless first period, the Gamblers opened the scoring at the 8:28 mark of the second, on a Marc Michaelis goal. Rookie forward Chris Grando tallied his first career USHL goal to the give the Gamblers a 2-0 lead early in the third (5:36). Sioux City cut the lead to one at the 18:46 mark, but Nick Poehling tallied an empty-net goal (19:34) in the final minute to seal the victory. With the win, Huska improved to 8-4-1 on the campaign.
A pair of late third period goals, earned the Musketeers a 2-1 win over the Gamblers on Saturday at the Tyson Events Center. The two teams traded opportunities through the first two periods, but neither could solve the opposition's goaltender. Sioux City tallied the game's first goal at the 12:29 mark of the third period. Forward Matt Steeves, came out of the corner, driving to the net. Huska made the first stop but Steeves put in his own rebound. Green Bay answered back shortly thereafter. Defenseman Gordi Meyer made a strong rush to the net, eventually getting the puck to the slot area for Jack Poehling, Poehling with time and space buried a shot off the post and into the net to tie the game at the 16:26 mark. Sioux City received a late power play and made no mistake as forward Teemu Pulkkinen buried a one timer from the near circle for the game winner (18:27). Huska turned aside 20 shots to suffer his first loss since November 8. Sioux City goaltender Evan Smith made 28 saves in victory.
HUSKA NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
On Monday the USHL announced that Green Bay Gamblers goaltender Adam Huska has been named CCM USHL Goaltender of the Week. In his three starts, Huska went 2-1-0 while posting a miniscule 1.33 goals against average and .977 save percentage. Huska is tops in the USHL in goals against average (1.92), save percentage (.934) and second in wins (8). Huska was selected in the 7th Round by the New York Rangers at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to his time in Green Bay, Huska spent time with the Slovakian U18 national team and HKM Zvolen.
PEEKE TO REPRESENT THE UNITED STATES
USA Hockey announced on Tuesday (11/17) the roster of players chosen for the United States Junior Select Team that will compete at the 2015 World Junior "A" Challenge, December 13-19 in Whitby, Ontario Canada. Named to the roster is Gamblers rookie defenseman Andrew Peeke. All 20 players selected are currently playing in the USHL.
Peeke is in his first season with the Gamblers. The Notre Dame recruit leads all Gambler defensemen in scoring tallying two goals and seven assists in 14 games. In September, Peeke took part in the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo, New York. Peeke was listed in the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Rankings.
Peeke will be joined by former Gambler Dallas Steward, who was selected as an assistant coach. Steward is currently the associate head coach with the Chicago Steel. Steward played three seasons with the Gamblers (1997-2000). The Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin native played his collegiate hockey at Alaska-Anchorage followed by a professional career in the ECHL and CHL that spanned from 2004-2010.
GAMBLERS AFFILITATE PLAYER ANDERSON MAKES COLLEGE CHOICE
Gamblers Affiliate list player Grant Anderson has committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Anderson was taken by the Gamblers in the 2016 USHL Affiliate Draft. The defenseman will spend the 2015-16 season at Wayzata High School in Minnesota. Anderson is a 1999 birth year.
COLLEGE COMMITMENTS
The 2015-2016 Green Bay Gamblers roster features 15 players who are committed to NCAA Division 1 institutions. The list is as follows: Matt Berkovitz (Wisconsin), Ryan Blankemeier (Dartmouth), Grant Frederic (Miami of Ohio), Chris Grando (Boston College), Brett Gruber (Arizona State), Cam Lee (Providence), John Leonard (UMASS), Connor Murphy (Michigan), Gordi Myer (Ohio State), Marc Michaelis (Minnesota State), Andrew Peeke (Notre Dame), Jack Poehling (St. Cloud State), Nick Poehling (St. Cloud State), Sam Saliba (Michigan State) and Jared Spooner (Minnesota State).
GAMBLERS RAISE $25,000 FOR LOCAL CHAPTER OF THE DAV
On Saturday (11/14), 5,777 came to the Resch Center to take part in the Green Bay Gamblers 4th Annual Military Night. The crowd was rewarded with a 2-0 victory by the home team. The game raised $25,000 for the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Proceeds were raised through jersey and helmet auctions and game night sponsorships. Last season the Military Night raised $20,000 for the DAV.
"Recognizing the men and women of the United States Armed Forces is something the Green Bay Gamblers take great pride in" says team President Brendan Bruss. "Past or present they are all American heroes and it is our honor to present this game."
The team adorned military inspired helmets and jerseys. Each jersey featured an armed forces division on the back and the POW/MIA logo on each shoulder. The helmets were camouflaged and also had the POW/MIA logo.
During the 2nd intermission, Tundraland Home Improvements surprised Iraq veteran Mike Alsteen with a $20,000 bath redo. After his military service, Alsteen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As Alsteen and his family were at Lambeau Field, Tundraland went to his home and made his bathroom handicap accessible.

Give your name a permanent place on the Tundraland Concourse at the Resch Center by purchasing a puck on the Tundraland Puck Wall. Honor family members and friends, or celebrate a special event or memory in a unique and lasting way. Pucks will become a permanent part of the Tundraland Puck Wall located outside Section 218 on the Tundraland Concourse. Proceeds from the puck wall to benefit youth hockey in Northeast Wisconsin.

GAMBLERS ON THE AIR
The Gamblers are on the on the road this weekend and you can catch all the action at Anduzzi's Sports club on Holmgren Way. On Friday the Gamblers visit the Des Moines Buccaneers. The following evening the Gamblers are in Madison to take on the Capitols. Start time for both games is 7:05 PM. All Gambler road games are televised at Anduzzi's Sports Club on Holmgren Way.
THE DIAMOND CLUB
The Diamond Club presented by Diamonds and Gold, is the newest beverage inclusive area in the Resch Center. Located in upper club seats, the Diamond Club can accommodate 30 and includes complimentary beer, soda and water. To reserve the Diamond Club contact Cindy at 676-8883.
THE DOG POUND
The Dog Pound presented by Bulldogs is the perfect place to have your next party. Located on the glass in the south end of the Resch Center, the Dog Pound seats forty, and includes complimentary beer, soda, cash bar and private restrooms.
