DUBLIN, Ohio - Indianapolis Indians infielder Josh Bell has been named International League Batter of the Week for the period of April 18-24, as announced by league officials on Monday.

In seven games over seven days, Bell hit .400 (12-for-30) with three doubles, a triple, and two home runs - one of which was a grand slam. He drove in nine runs and scored six over the span.

Bell's production was highlighted by an unforgettable game on Friday, April 22, at Louisville. The big switch-hitter hit for the cycle - the first Tribe batter to do so since 2012 - and went 4-for-5 at the dish with five runs batted in. He both doubled and cleared the bags with a grand slam in the third inning as the Indians sent 11 men to the plate.

It is the first weekly award for Bell since claiming Eastern League POW honors on May 4 of last season.

You can see Josh Bell in action at Victory Field when the team begins its second homestand of the year on Friday, April 29, against Norfolk. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
