The 2016 IronRail Series begins tonight as the IronPigs (10-7) play Game 1 of a three-game series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (8-9) at PNC Field... With a 5-3 win at Pawtucket yesterday, the Pigs took the three-game series at McCoy Stadium, 2-1, and improved to 5-1 on this nine-game, eight-day, North Division road trip. The Pigs have won eight of their last 10 contests after starting 2-5... The RailRiders -- the Yankees' top affiliate -- lost 7-4 at Syracuse yesterday and were swept in the three-game series at NBT Bank Stadium. In fact, the Riders have now lost five-consecutive games after starting 8-4.

RHP Jake Thompson (1-2, 5.14) will start for LHV against RHP Anthony Swarzak (0-2, 6.92).

First-Pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

FIRST AND FOREMOST!:

With the win yesterday, the Pigs claimed sole possession of First Place in the North Division for the first time since July 19, 2012 -- a span of 1375 days without even owning a share of the top spot... In addition, the Pigs own the best record in the IL at 10-7 (.588).
