Berrios Named Batavia Downs Player of the Week

Rochester Red Wings pitcher Jose Berrios has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Racetrack Player of the Week for the period of April 18-24.

Berrios started on April 21, with the Wings battling a five-game losing streak. Berrios responded by holding Pawtucket hitless through five innings, in a game won by the Wings 5-0. Berrios pitched seven innings with just two hits allowed, walking one and striking out seven. He threw 93 pitches, 61 for strikes. Berrios improved to 2-0 on the season, and entering play Monday his 1.05 ERA was tied for fifth-best in the International League.
