IronPigs Begin Series at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will begin a three-game set with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Monday night. First pitch from PNC Field is slated for 6:35 p.m.

RHP Jake Thompson (1-2, 5.14) gets the ball for the IronPigs in the series opener. The Dallas native earned his first Triple-A win on Wednesday at Syracuse when he allowed two runs on six hits to go along with three walks and two strikeouts over six innings of work. Thus far over his three starts, Thompson has fanned 12 batters in 14.0 IP.

RHP Anthony Swarzak (0-2, 6.92) heads to the hill for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday night. Swarzak was tagged with the loss on Wednesday vs. Buffalo after giving up five runs on 10 hits while walking one and fanning six over 5.0 IP. In 3 GS this season, the veteran right-hander has allowed 19 hits in 13.0 IP.

After a three-hit game on Sunday, Pigs OF Nick Williams has now had multi-hit games in four of his last six outings. In that time, Williams is hitting .440-0-4 (11-25, 3B, 2 SB, 5 R).
