Jeff Ware Returns to War Memorial at Oncenter

Syracuse, NY (April 1, 2004) – The Syracuse Crunch announced that former Crunch player Jeff Ware will be at the Crunch's final regular season home game on Saturday, April 3, when they host the Rochester Americans.

Ware, part of the Crunch's 2000-01 and 2001-02 teams, announced his retirement from hockey on January 28, 2002 because of a knee injury. In 1994-95 Ware was named to the OHL Rookie All-Star team and was a member of the OHL Selects at the Chrysler Cup Challenge. Ware was a member of the Memorial Cup winning Oshawa Generals in 1996-97 and helped Canada win a gold medal in the World Junior Championships in Switzerland (1996-97).

In 94 games with Syracuse, Ware recorded 4 assists and 232 penalty minutes and tallied 1 assist and 12 penalty minutes in 21 NHL games with Toronto and Florida. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Ware was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs with their first choice, 15th overall, in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch travel to Rochester on Friday, April 2 for a 7:35 p.m. game.
