Garnett Rejoins Wolves, Masters Released

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned goaltender Michael Garnett to the Chicago Wolves from the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. In addition, the Wolves have released netminder Tyler Masters.

Garnett, who recorded a 3-1 mark with Gwinnett after being reassigned on March 26 ­ including a 2-0 shutout on March 28 against the Central Division-leading Louisiana IceGators ­ ranks third in the ECHL with a 2.14 goals-against average in 33 games with Gwinnett this season. Garnett, who shares third in the league with four shutouts, has posted a 21-10 mark and a .926 save percentage with the Gladiators this season.

Overall, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native has recorded a 6-3-2-0 mark with a 2.68 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in 12 games with the Wolves this season.

Masters, who did not appear in a game for the Wolves, recorded a 7-15-1 mark, a 3.25 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage in 25 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL before being signed by Chicago to a professional tryout contract on March 26.
