Eric Perrin named AHL First Team All-Star

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League that center Eric Perrin has been named to the AHL's First Team All-Star squad for the 2003-04 season.

Perrin, currently on recall to the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, has 21 goals and a league leading 54 assists for 75 points for HERSHEY this season He notched four points in one game by recording four assists in a 5-2 win vs. Albany at GIANT Center on February 4th, and enjoyed a three-game assist streak from October 16th to October 19th. Perrin scored back-to-back game-winning goals on October 19th at Manchester and October 24th at Binghamton, and scored the overtime game-winning goal at Norfolk on January 14th in a 2-1 HERSHEY victory. He also wore the captain's "C" on March 26th at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton before being recalled to Tampa Bay on March 27th. At the time of his recall to Tampa Bay, Perrin ranked second in the AHL in scoring to Manchester's Pavel Rosa.

The announcement of Perrin as a First Team All-Star marks the first time since the 1999-2000 season that HERSHEY has had a player named to the honor. Former BEARS forwards Christian Matte and Serge Aubin were named as First Team All-Stars together for the 1999-2000 campaign.

The BEARS play at home next on Saturday, April 10th against Norfolk. Tickets for the game are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911. The final regular season game at GIANT Center is Sunday, April 11th when the BEARS host the Philadelphia Phantoms. Tickets remain for the April 11th game as well.
