MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
This weekend the Jackals make their final visit to Wheeling for a two-game set against the Nailers. Tonight's meeting and tomorrow's afternoon affair will mark the final two of six total matchups this season and the second and third at WesBanco Arena, which is the second-lowest total in a single season between the Jackals and Nailers. Elmira is 43-33-12 all-time against Wheeling. This will also be the first year since the 2010-11 campaign that these two former divisional rivals have not faced off at least 13 times. In the last contest, Justin Bernhardt scored the opening goal and Spiro Goulakos added a goal and an assist in his first game back from Rochester, but the Nailers skated away with a 3-2 overtime win on a controversial high-sticking play that led to the game-winning goal. Tyler Currier leads the Jackals with three goals against the Nailers and Currier and Chris Langkow lead the team with three points against Wheeling.
