IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmria Jackals play their last home game before embarking on a seven-game road trip when they host the Reading Royals tonight at First Arena, with the action starting at 7:35 p.m. Last night, Elmira came away with a 5-4 shootout win over the Trenton Titans as the Jackals earned their first three-game winning streak since the opening three contests of the 2011-2012 regular season. The victory was the 300th in the head-coaching career of Pat Bingham. The Jackals are a perfect 5/5 in overtime games this season, with two wins in sudden death and three in shootouts.

STEWART STAYS PERFECT IN SHOOTOUTS

Brian Stewart is the only goaltender in the ECHL to have participated in a shootout and not have allowed a goal as of this point of the season, as the Burnaby, British Columbia native made saves on all four Titans' bids last night. Stewart is 12/12 in three shootouts this season and is 17/17 in his ECHL career dating back to his rookie season of 2010-2011. In seven-career shootouts between the ECHL and the AHL, Stewart is 7-0.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS

Reading is on a season-high seven-game winless streak, having taken just three points during that stretch (0-4-1-2). The Royals have not won since they defeated the Jackals on Nov. 13, 6-2, at the Sovereign Center. Elmira's former captain, Yannick Tifu, makes his return tonight to First Arena after being traded to the Royals from the Chicago Express earlier in the week.
