ECHL Announces Fine, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Saturday announced that Reading's Ryan Cruthers has been suspended for six games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #187, Wheeling at Reading, on Dec. 2.

Cruthers was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding, as well as a game misconduct for returning to the ice. He is suspended three games under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline for his boarding penalty and three games under Rule #70.10 for returning to the ice.

Cruthers will miss Reading's games at Elmira (Dec. 3), vs. Trenton (Dec. 8), at Wheeling (Dec. 9), vs. Wheeling (Dec. 11), at Wheeling (Dec. 16) and vs. Wheeling (Dec. 17).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
