Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The Isotopes (50-56) rallied from a three-run deficit to tie the game Saturday night, but back-to-back home runs from the Sky Sox (56-47) in the eighth inning sent Colorado Springs to a 5-3 victory.

Albuquerque was shut out for the first six innings of the night which included a two-hour and 10-minute rain delay in the middle of the game. The Isotopes' offense emerged for two runs in the seventh before knotting up the score at 3-3 in the eighth on Ryan McMahon's RBI single.

McMahon finished the contest 2-for-4 to extend his season-best hitting streak to 11 games. The infielder has 25 RBI in July ranking as the second-most in the league for the month.

Reliever Brooks Pounders was charged with his second loss of the year after surrendering the back-to-back home runs to Christian Bethancourt and Rymer Liriano.

Rehabbing starter Chad Bettis went 4.0 innings yielding two runs, six hits and one walk in his 74-pitch outing. The two runs he allowed came on Domingo Santana's double in the third inning. Bettis is recovering from a blister on his finger.

The Isotopes and Sky Sox will play game three of their four-game set Sunday afternoon at Security Service Field. Jeff Hoffman is scheduled to head to the hill in search of his fifth win of the season. Colorado Springs will counter with right-hander Aaron Brooks. The game is slated to get underway at 1:30 p.m.
