
Offense Sparks Rainiers 7-5 Victory Over Baby Cakes

METAIRIE, La. - The Tacoma Rainiers (53-54) collected a 7-5 victory over the New Orleans Baby Cakes (50-57) on Sunday afternoon at the Shrine on Airline.
Third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean led the Rainiers offense, going 3-for-5 with an RBI to extend his hitting streak to 10 games, tied for the longest streak on the club this year. Catcher David Freitas (2x4, R, RBI, BB) collected a pair of hits, while first baseman Cameron Perkins (1x5, R, 2 RBI) drove in multiple runs.
Christian Bergman (7-8) got the start for Tacoma and worked five three-run innings to earn the win. He allowed six hits, issued just one walk, and struck out four on 91 pitches (56 strikes).
Tucker Healy (0.2 IP), Dario Alvarez (0.2 IP), and Ryan Garton (1.2 IP) all earned holds out of the Rainiers bullpen - they allowed just one run on one hit while striking out two. Nick Rumbelow allowed a run in the bottom of the 9th, but still earned his first save of the season.
Tacoma and New Orleans wrap up their series on Monday night at 5:00 p.m. PT. The Rainiers will start right-hander Erasmo Ramirez (0-1, 1.23), while the Baby Cakes will hand the ball to righty Jeff Brigham (2-0, 1.93).
