Today's Game: Reno can take the series tonight in game three of the four=game series. The Aces will send former Astros farmhand Jake Buchanan to the mound this afternoon for in his 20th start of the season. Buchanan needs seven strikeouts to reach 700 in his career. Kristopher Negron is coming off a three-hit performance and Anthony Recker has hit safely in seven of his last 10.

Last Game: Matt Koch got the start for Greg Gross and the Aces last night. Koch went just four innings, but allowed no runs and four hits. Cesar Puello got the Aces into the scoring column in the top of the second inning with a double into left field. Kristopher Negron followed Puello's lead with an RBI single to bring in a speedy Puello and make the score 2-0. In the top of the fifth, Rey Fuentes extended the Aces lead to three with an RBI single into right field to finish the scoring for the visiting team. Round Rock got one back in the sixth inning, but the Aces bullpen shut the door to secure the victory.

Jake Barrett's Dominance: Right-hander Jake Barrett has been one of the Aces most valuable weapons in 2018. He's worked in 30 games thus far and a total of 40.1 innings. Opponents are batting .161 and have struck out 55 times. In the month of July, he is 1-0-3 with an ERA of 2.13 and 17 strikeouts. When pitching in the 9th inning, Barrett boasts a 0.69 ERA in 13 innings of work, 5 walks and 24 strikeouts.

On this Date In Baseball History: In 2009, the Kansas City Royals played an entire game without registering a single defensive assist for the first time in franchise history in their 7-3 loss to Baltimore at Camden Yards. During Kansas City's eight innings in the field, the team records 24 outs via nine strikeouts, 13 fly outs, and two groundouts, both handled unassisted by first baseman Billy Butler.

Streaking No Longer: Reno 1868 FC's incredible 16-match unbeaten streak came to an end in the most heartbreaking fashion Saturday night at Greater Nevada Field. In front of 6,680 fans, Reno fell 2-1 to Saint Louis FC in the waning minutes of Saturday night's inaugural meeting. Saint Louis defender Sam fink capped off the comeback with a goal in the third minute of stoppage time to send Reno to its first loss in 105 days.

Major Honors: On Friday, the D-backs unveiled their 20th Anniversary Team, as voted upon by fans on dbacks.com...the 16 members of the team will be honored during a pregame ceremony on August 4...the first 20,000 fans will receive a 20th Anniversary Team commemorative t-shirt, courtesy of Gila River Hotels & Casinos...all fans will enjoy the annual Alumni Game starting at 2:30 p.m., presented by Sanderson Ford.
