Reno Aces News Release

Round Rock, TX. - Jake Buchanan, Jared Miller and Albert Suarez tossed the Aces second shutout of 2018 tonight in game three of the four-game set against Round Rock. Buchanan put the Aces in a great position with his seven-inning, two-hit performance. Offensively, Kevin Cron and Ildemaro Vargas led the way finishing with seven combined hits. Cron finished tied with a career-best five hits and Vargas extended his hit streak to 25 games. The 8-0 win puts the Aces above the .500 mark with a record of 54-53 with one game left on the road trip.

The Aces jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Reno loaded the bases against Round Rock starter Michael Roth (L, 6-6) for Rey Fuentes. Fuentes hit a ground ball soft enough to score Cron from third base for the first run of the afternoon. The Aces biggest inning of the ballgame came in the top of the third inning thanks to Cron's 18th home run of the season. His two-run blast gave Reno a 3-0 lead and a two-out RBI single by Yasmany Tomas plated the third run of the inning. The visiting club added two in the fourth and two in the sixth to solidify the victory. Reno will square off again from Dell Diamond tomorrow night and will send right-hander Neftali Feliz to the mound.
