Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Nashville Sounds made plenty of noise in the first inning, but were quickly silenced by the bats of the Salt Lake Bees. Salt Lake took the second game of the series with a 11-6 victory Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark.

Nashville started the game hot, scoring three runs in the first inning to grab an early advantage. The Bees would respond with a run in the first before exploding for four more in the second to take a 5-3 lead. Salt Lake added to its lead with three more runs in the third, including a monstrous two-run homer by Kaleb Cowart. The Sounds added a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings before Matt Thaiss blasted a solo homer in the sixth to make it 9-6 for the Bees. Nashville never got any closer as the Bees tacked on a couple more en route to the victory.

Jose Suarez got the start on the hill for the Bees and was relieved after four and one thirds innings by Eduardo Paredes, who was credited with the win.

The two teams will face off again for the third game of the four-game set Sunday evening at 6:05 p.m. at Smith's Ballpark. Tickets are available at slbees.com.
