IronPigs head home after two-game split

(Syracuse, NY) - The Syracuse Mets (37-40) got a timely hit out of Luis Guillorme in the bottom of the eighth inning. His RBI single off Tom Windle (5-1) gave the Mets a 3-2 lead over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (35-39) and eventual win.

Austin Listi continued his hot hitting in the top of the first inning against Casey Coleman. Listi hit an RBI single off Coleman to score Andrew Romine and give the Pigs a 1-0 lead. He's now on a five-game hitting streak since getting called up from double-A, Reading.

Syracuse jumped ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning against Ramon Rosso as Gregor Blanco hit his seventh home run of the season, a two-run home run that scored Danny Espinosa. Rosso left the game after pitching 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs four hits and five walks with four strikeouts.

Lehigh Valley tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the seventh inning against Ryley Gilliam. Phil Gosselin hit a sacrifice fly off Gilliam to score Shane Robinson.

Ryan O'Rourke (1-2) earned the win for Syracuse by pitching a scoreless top of the eighth inning. Paul Sewald earned his third save of the season by pitching a scoreless top of the ninth inning to close out the game.

The IronPigs return home on Wednesday evening to begin a five-game homestand starting with the Rochester Red Wings. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
