Today's Game
This evening, the Bisons and Pawtucket Red Sox meet for the second of two games at McCoy Stadium following a Buffalo win last night. It is the first stop on a two-city road trip. Buffalo will be in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday for a three-game series that features a double header on Thursday.
Yesterday's Game: BUF 10, PAW 6
Buffalo powered their way to a game one win against the PawSox, 10-6. The Herd has now won 15 of their last 18 games. Jonathan Davis and Patrick Kivlehan each had two home runs, including back-to-back homers in the sixth, and a combined eight RBIs to lead the Bisons' offense. Sam Travis, Rusney Castillo, and Bryce Brentz each had a long ball for Pawtucket but it wasn't enough to push past the Bisons.
Pawtucket Red Sox (7-4)
Buffalo is making their second trip to Pawtucket this week after winning each of their last two series with the PawSox. The two teams will meet again at McCoy Stadium July 11-14. The PawSox will make one more trip to Sahlen Field August 23-25.
Today's Starter
LHP Ryan Feierabend takes the mound for the Herd in his eigth start of the year. In his last outting he notched the win while tossing 6.0 IP, giving up three runs on four hits, and striking out seven batters to just one walk. Feierabend will look to earn his fifth win of 2019 and to pick up a second quality start in a row.
Jonathan Davis
OF Jonathan Davis had another strong performance as he hit in the three-hole last night. He went 2-4 with two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI's. Davis now has six long balls and 17 RBI's on the year, while hitting .270. After yesterday's game, he is now the fourth different Bisons hitter to have a two home run game.
Patrick Kivlehan
Patrick Kivlehan had his third two home run game while he's been with Buffalo. Kivlehan now has a four game hit streak where he is hitting 6-15 (.400). The outfielder has hit 13 home runs on the triple-A level in 2019, nine of which have come with the Bisons.
Thomas Pannone
LHP Thomas Pannone picked up his first win in his third appearance with the Bisons in 2019. In five innings of work, he allowed just one run on five hits while striking out five batter and walking two. It was the lefty's first Triple-A win in eight total starts between this year and last.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (29-50) lost against the New York Yankees in a shoot out with 18 total runs scored in the first game of their three-game series. The Blue Jays had five different batters with multi-hit games to go along with Lourdes Gurriel Jr and Freddy Galvis each having home runs. The team meet again tonight in New York with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
