DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Dallas Stars have recalled defenseman John Erskine (ER-skin) from the Des Moines-based American Hockey League team.

Drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round, 39th overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Erskine skated in two games for Iowa this weekend, recording six penalty minutes. He has appeared in 95 career NHL games, notching 220 penalty minutes, two goals and two assists: 95(2/2/4)220. The Kingston, Ontario native has played in 331 professional games, recording 1158 PIM's, 10 goals, and 31 assists: 331(10/31/41)1158.

In 1999, Erskine was awarded the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL Defenseman of the Year and was named to the OHL First All-Star Team. He finished the 2000-01 International Hockey League (IHL) season with 284 PIM's, third overall.
