Moose Sign Winnipeg native to PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forward Scott Kelman to a pro tryout contract.

Kelman, 24, is a Winnipeg native. He has played in 15 games this year with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL where he has scored six goals and 13 assists for 19 points and 43 penalty minutes. Kelman has played in 42 career games in the American Hockey League with the San Antonio Rampage, where he's scored two goals and five assists for seven points and 39 penalty minutes. In 113 career ECHL games, the fourth-year pro has 36 goals and 63 assists for 99 points along with 240 penalty minutes. Kelman was the first choice of the Phoenix Coyotes, 15th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
