THIS WEEK AT THE SPECTRUM
Wednesday marks the Phantoms annual School Day Game. The event is a partnership with the Philadelpha Inquirer and gives kids in attendance a workbook that they fill out during the game. This year's game is a World War II theme in honor of the Pearl Harbor anniversary.
Friday is Toys for Tots night at the Spectrum. Fans are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for distribution to those less fortunate for the holiday season. Santa Claus will also be on the concourse to greet fans and take Christmas requests!
THREE MAKE FLYERS DEBUT
A trio of Phantoms made their first appearances with the Philadelphia Flyers over the past week. Ryan Ready skated in his first NHL contest when he was called up for the club's game last Tuesday on Long Island against the New York Islanders. Ready played five shifts before being sidelined with a recurring injury. On Wednesday, Ben Eager made his NHL debut against New Jersey, and registered an assist to go along with an impressive hit that he delivered on his first shift. Eager also played for the Flyers on Saturday in Nashville, where he was joined by goaltender Jamie Storr, who was recalled to back up Antero Niittymaki. Both Storr and Eager flew back to Philadelphia to play for the Phantoms in Sunday's loss to Syracuse.
CAPTAIN'S COUNTDOWN - 5
John Slaney remains five points shy of becoming the AHL's all-time leading scoring defenseman after going without a point this weekend. Slaney has 448 career points and is chasing Steve Kraftcheck, the current leader at 453 career points.
