PORTLAND, ME- The American Hockey League announced today that Portland Pirates right wing Corey Perry has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 4, 2005. In three games, Perry scored three goals and added three assists to help the Pirates regain a share of the lead in the Atlantic Division.
Perry extended his scoring streak to seven games by recording a point in each of Portland's three contests over the weekend. He scored a goal in a 3-2 defeat at Albany on Friday, came back with a goal and an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to Hartford on Saturday, and recorded a goal and two assists in Sunday's 3-2 win over division co-leader Manchester, including setting up the winning goal at the 19:59 mark of the third period.
In recognition of his achievement, Perry will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Pirates home game.
