
P-Bruins set for three-game week

After the Providence Bruins earned an exciting 3-0 victory Sunday night over the Lowell Lock Monsters, the team returns to the ice Friday, December 9 opening up a three game week at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center against Lowell at 7:05 p.m. The P-Bruins head on the road Saturday, December 10 to face the Albany River Rats at 7:00 p.m., before returning home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday, December 11, to face the Springfield Falcons at 4:05 p.m. Tickets for Friday's and Sunday's games are available online at providencebruins.com, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office and at all TicketMaster outlets. The P-Bruins defense has been strong the entire season. No opponent has scored more than four goals in a game this season against Providence. The P-Bruins have allowed on average just 2.70 goals per game, which ranks fifth in the league. Providence has also held opponents to only 27.50 shots per game, which ranks fourth in the league. On special teams the P-Bruins have not allowed a power play goal in the last five games (23-23) and overall the penalty kill unit ranks fourth in the league killing 102 of 117 opportunities (87.2%). In net, Tim Thomas held this week's opponents to only two goals after picking up a shutout victory Sunday over Lowell. His GAA has plummeted to 2.35 with a 91.9 save percentage. His GAA is seventh best in the league.
Eric Healey continues to lead the Bruins in scoring with 22 points (8g, 14a) and is currently on a five game point/assist scoring streak. Rookie Tyler Redenbach continues to be one of the top young players in the league with a total of 19 points on the season (8g, 11a), which puts him eighth in the league among rookies in scoring. Ben Guite is third on the team in scoring after scoring 13 points (7g, 6a) over the last 12 games, including five power play goals. After picking up an assist last night, Guite extended his home point-scoring streak to six games.
