Chiodo re-assigned to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned goaltender Andy Chiodo from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced Monday.

Chiodo, 22, made 19 saves to help the Penguins to a 3-2 win in Norfolk on Saturday night, his first appearance of the season with the Penguins. He has previously appeared in six games with the Nailers this season, posting a 5-1 record with a 3.45 goals against average and a .868 save percentage.

Chiodo has appeared in 67 games in parts of four seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 28-29-4 record with six shutouts and a 2.60 goals against average. He has also appeared in eight games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, going 3-4-1 with a 3.46 goals against average.

Chiodo was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft.
