Ice Pilots on Two Game Winning Streak With Win vs Gwinnett

The Ice Pilots won their second game in a row with a 2-1 shootout win vs. Gwinnett last Wednesday night at the Pensacola Civic Center. Brian Collins scored on a hard shot from the right wing circle with 3:41 remaining in regulation time to tie the game at one. Pete Gardiner scored the only goal in the shootout to give the Ice Pilots a 2-1 win. Todd Ford was brilliant in goal for the Ice Pilots stopping 38 out of 39 shots and all five shooters in the shootout to pick up the win in goal for the Ice Pilots.

The Ice Pilots have a record of 6-2 in their last eight home games and have an overall record of 10-11-3 for 23 points.

The Ice Pilots would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Ice Pilots will play at ! Florida this Wednesday and Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. central time. The Ice Pilots will be going for their first win of the season vs. Florida after losing to the Everblades on December 9 4-2. The Ice Pilots have an overall record of 20-24-2 vs. Florida including a record of 10-9-2 at home and 10-15-0 on the road.

The Ice Pilots are Home for the Holidays: The Ice Pilots will be home for the holidays after the Christmas break. The Ice Pilots will host Florida on Wednesday, December 28 at 7:05 p.m. It is Family Night. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Fans will be able to skate with the team after the game in a Post Game Skate with the Ice Pilots' Players. Admission to skate with the team after the game and skate rental is $8.

The Ice Pilots will raise the Brabham Cup Championship banner on Friday, December 30 vs. Charlotte at 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive mini replica 2004-2005 Brabham Cup Championship banners.

The Ice Pilots will host ! the Charlotte Checkers on New Year's Eve Saturday, December 31 at 7:05 p.m. Celebrate the New Year with the Ice Pilots. The first 1,000 fans will receive a 2006 calendar.

Jr. Mascot Contest: The Ice Pilots are looking for a new mascot to go along with Iceman. The Ice Pilots are having a Jr. Mascot contest to select the new character and name. Fans are asked to draw a character of a mascot and give it a name. Send the drawing and the name of the mascot to: Jr. Mascot Contest, Pensacola Ice Pilots, 201 East Gregory Street, Pensacola, Florida 32502.

Tentative Practice Schedule this week: The Ice Pilots will have an off ice work out on Monday and will practice on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Civic Center. The Ice Pilots will leave for Ft. Myers on Tuesday night. The Ice Pilots will play at Florida on Wednesday and Thursday night. The Ice Pilots will have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off for the Christmas break. Practice times may change.

Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Brian Collins has been nominated for the ECHL Player of the Week for scor! ing a goal and winning 8 out of 10 face offs in the Ice Pilots 2-1 shootout win vs. Gwinnett. Todd Ford has been nominated for the ECHL Goalie of the Week. Ford was the winning goalie in the 2-1 shootout win vs. Gwinnett on Wednesday night stopping 38 out of 39 shots and stopping all five shooters in the shoot out. Todd Ford has been named the Dodge Player of the Week.

Fans will be able to vote for three forwards, two defenseman, one goalie and one coach who have played and coached for the Ice Pilots since the Ice Pilots inaugural season. The voting will end on February 21, 2006. The New York Nick's/Ice Pilots Ten Year Anniversary Team presented by the Pensacola News Journal will be announced on March 17 when the Ice Pilots play host to the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 p.m.

Ice Pilots Offer Pay Per View Webcasts with B2 Networks this season. The Ice Pilots home and away games are available for viewing on the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com . The Ice Pilots have partnered with B2 Networks based in Las Vegas, Nevada on the pay per view broadcast.

Fans will be able to click on the "Watch the Game Live" icon at the Ice Pilots website to view and listen to the game. The broadcast is available to fans with high speed DSL or Cable modem internet connection and the charge is $6 per game.
