Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

Last Weeks Highlights:

3/22/05 > Long Beach 4 @ Bakersfield 3

The Condors scored first, just 41 seconds into the game before Marco Rosa tied it up with just 15 seconds to go in the first period. The teams traded goals back and forth, with Cheverie scoring and Rosa getting his second of the game to tie it at 3-3. Chris Kenady scored the game winner at 16:35 of the third to give the Ice Dogs their second consecutive victory.

3/23/05 > Long Beach 2 vs. Gwinnett 1

The Ice Dogs won their third game in a row Wednesday night in their first ever match-up with the Gwinnett Gladiators. Gwinnett struck first 2:47 into the game, but Marty Clapton and Cory Urquhart provided all the offense Long Beach would need to insure the victory. Sebastien Centomo was solid in net, making 26 saves.

3/25/05 > Long Beach 0 @ San Diego 2

Going for their fourth win in a row, the Ice Dogs were unable to put any goals on the board, falling to the San Diego Gulls, 2-0. Goaltender Olivier Michaud played an outstanding game, stopping 38 of the 39 shots he faced. Eddy Ferhi earned the shutout for San Diego with 37 saves.

3/26/05 > Long Beach 5 vs. San Diego 2

Just 24 hours after falling to San Diego, the Ice Dogs picked themselves back up and beat them by a score of 5-2. Joe Cardarelli had two goals and an assist to put Long Beach in sole possession of second place in the West Division standings. Sebastien Centomo improved to 4-0-0 since coming to Long Beach, making 27 saves in the win.

3/27/05 > Long Beach 3 vs. Bakersfield 7

After an impressive win against San Diego, the Ice Dogs came out flat Sunday night by falling to the Bakersfield Condors, 7-3. The Ice Dogs twice had the lead, but six straight goals by the Condors in the second and third periods were more than they could handle as Bakersfield pulled into a second place tie with Long Beach in the standings.
