March 28, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
LAST WEEK: Pee Dee went 0-3-1 on its trip through Louisiana and Texas, and is now officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Pride are 29-33-5 for 63 points and is in fifth place in the East Division.
Wednesday, March 23 @ Louisiana IceGators 2 PRIDE 1
After two-and-a-half scoreless periods, the Pride finally got on the scoreboard at the 12:29 mark of the final period as Allan Sirois tallied a power-play goal. The IceGators tied the game with a power-play goal of their own off of the stick of Jim Shepherd at the 16:36 mark. Just 28 seconds later, Louisiana netted the game-winner as Roger Leonard found the back of the net on a 2-on-1 rush. The Pride fell despite outshooting the IceGators 38-26.
Friday, March 25 @ Texas Wildcatters 3 PRIDE 1
After a scoreless first period, Texas scored the game's first goal just 10 seconds into the second period as Mark Gianetti netted a power-play goal. The Wildcatters added two more goals as Nick Field scored his first professional goal at 5:54 and Ty Hennes lit the lamp at 13:50. Pee Dee got on the scoreboard just two minutes later on a Kyle Kidney score, but that would be as close as the Pride would get, despite firing off 40 shots on goal.
Saturday, March 26 @ Texas Wildcatters 3 PRIDE 2
Pee Dee got the scoring started 14:42 into the contest on Gregg Johnson's 23rd goal of the season. Texas came back exactly two minutes later to tie the game on a Ryan Fultz tally. Fultz added his second of the night with 47 seconds left in the second period to make it 2-1 Wildcatters after two. Johnson's second of the night 5:47 into the third tied the game, but Fultz completed the hat trick less than two minutes later to set the final. The Pride outshot the Wildcatters 50-35, but again were only able to manage two goals.
Sunday, March 27 @ Louisiana IceGators 4 PRIDE 3 (OT)
The Pride scored a pair of first-period goals off of the sticks of Kyle Kidney and Noah Whyte, and then added another tally early in the second from Gregg Johnson. Louisiana got on the board midway through the second as Joe Dustin took advantage of a lucky bounce off of the end boards to beat Nick Boucher. The IceGators pulled within one nine minutes into the final period, and then tied the game at 12:35 with a power-play marker. Jade Galbraith netted the game-winner for Louisiana just 1:37 into the overtime period to give the IceGators the win.
