THE WEEK AHEAD
Tuesday, March 29th Inferno vs. Augusta Lynx Carolina Coliseum 7:30pm
This is the last game this season between the Inferno and Lynx. The Inferno is 2-2-2 against the Lynx this season and 14-10-5 all-time. The Lynx are in last place in the East Division with a record of 25-33-7-57pts.
Thursday, March 31st Inferno vs. Florida Everblades Carolina Coliseum 7:30pm
The Inferno is 2-1-0 against the Everblades this season and 14-9-1 all-time. Columbia will face their last two regular season games in Florida on April 8th and 9th. The Everblades are in second place in the South Division with 87 points (39-19-9).
Friday, April 1st Inferno vs. Pee Dee Pride Carolina Coliseum 7:00pm
Pee Dee has not won a game in the Carolina Coliseum this season. The Inferno is 4-3-1 against the Pride this year and 20-9-4 all-time. The Pride is in fifth place in the South Division with 63 points (29-33-5) and has been eliminated from the playoff race.
Saturday, April 2nd Inferno @ Pee Dee Pride Florence Civic Center 7:30pm
This is the last meeting between the Inferno and Pride this season. Pee Dee is 4-0-0 against the Inferno at home.
LAST WEEK
Tuesday, March 22nd Inferno 1 - FLORIDA 4
Florida came out strong, scoring three unanswered goals by Simon Tremblay (2) and Brad Fast. Sean Owens scored his fifth goal of the season on the power play with a slap shot at 17:10 with assists to Chanse Fitzpatrick and Matt Ulwelling. Steve Saviano added the empty net goal at 18:34 of the third as Florida skates away with the win. Mike Minard was in goal for the Inferno stopping 24 of 28 shots.
Thursday, March 24th Inferno 2 â AUGUSTA 3 (Shootout)
The Augusta Lynx beat the Inferno in a shootout 3-2 as Columbia gives up a two-goal lead. The Inferno earned one point in the East Division standings that places them three points out of first place and one point behind second place South Carolina Stingrays. Tim Smith opened the scoring with netting his fourth goal of the season at 4:27 of the first period. Robin Carruthers and Ryan Campbell had the assists. Chanse Fitzpatrick gave the Inferno a 2-0 lead with 40 seconds left in the second period with his 19th goal of the season with a pass from Brad Ralph. The Lynx scored two goals in the third period to send the game into overtime and a shootout. Doug Wright scored at 8:30 and Louis Goulet scored with 52 seconds left in the game for Augusta. Rob McVicar stopped 38 of 40 shots on goal for the Inferno (33-18-11). The Augusta Lynx remains in last place in the East Division as they improve their record to 25-31-7.
Friday, March 25th INFERNO 2 â Charlotte 0
The Columbia Inferno gained two important points in the East Division as they beat the first place Charlotte Checkers 2-0. Chanse Fitzpatrick scored at 1:22 of the second period with a wrist shot from in front of the net with passes from Brad Ralph and D'Arcy McConvey. At 9:57, Matt Ulwelling netted his 15th goal of the season as he lifted the puck past goaltender Kelly Guard. Walker McDonald and Bryson Busniuk each had an assist. Inferno goalie Mike Minard earned his fifth shutout of the season stopping 20 shots on goal. The Inferno improves their record to 34-18-11 and takes sole possession of second place in the East Division.
Saturday, March 26th INFERNO 2 â Greenville 0
The Columbia Inferno move into first place in the East Division and record their second consecutive shutout as they down the Grrrowl 2-0. Steve Burgess scored at 3:53 of the second period with assists to Matt Ulwelling and Ryan Campbell to put the Inferno on the board first. John Longo added his 10th goal of the year with three seconds left in the period with help from Erick Boulton and Burgess. Rob McVicar earned his third shutout, stopping 25 shots on goal.

Position: First Place with 81 points
