
Stepp Recalled To AHL; Brown Activated

SAN DIEGO â The San Diego Gulls announced Monday that center Joel Stepp has been recalled to the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. The Gulls also announced before Sunday's game that center Curtis Brown has been activated from the injured list, while right-winger Sean O'Connor has been placed on the seven-day injured reserve.
Stepp appeared in 12 games for the Gulls, notching seven points (all goals) and 10 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-11-inch, 190-pound native of Rochester, Minn. was assigned to San Diego on March 2. In 53 games for Cincinnati this season, Stepp posted 11 points (3g, 8a) and 21 penalty minutes.
Brown, who has played more than 500 career games in the NHL, was activated Sunday after missing the three previous games with a groin injury. In 46 games for the Gulls this season, the 6-foot, 190-pounder from Unity, Saskatchewan has recorded 38 points (9g, 29a) and 24 penalty minutes.
O'Connor was placed on the seven-day injured list Sunday after spraining his knee during Friday night's game against the Long Beach Ice Dogs. In 46 games for San Diego this season, the 6-foot-3-inch, 203-pound native of Victoria, British Columbia has 30 points (20g, 10a) and 142 penalty minutes. O'Connor has also appeared in 15 games for Cincinnati this season, notching one assist and 28 penalty minutes.
San Diego plays its next four games against the Idaho Steelheads, with the first three in Boise, Idaho. The Gulls will face Idaho Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the Bank of America Centre, with all games beginning at 6:05 p.m. (PST). The two will square off again in San Diego Wednesday April 6 at 7:05 p.m. (PDT).
