Wranglers come home for final six games

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 1-2-0 record for the week starting with a 3-2 overtime win at Alaska on Tuesday night. Friday night, the Wranglers fell 3-1 at Sullivan Arena to the Aces. Saturday night, Las Vegas was defeated by Alaska 3-1.

This week Las Vegas will play host to Fresno at 7:05 pm on Tuesday. Friday, the Victoria Salmon Kings come to the Orleans Arena at 7:05 pm. Saturday night, the Bakersfield Condors make their final visit of the season to the Orleans Arena at 7:05 pm.

Las Vegas 3 at Alaska 2 OT

Anchorage, AK – The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Alaska Aces 3-2 in overtime at Sullivan Arena on Wednesday night. Winger Dan Tudin scored the game-winning goal just 2:33 into overtime to lead the Wranglers to victory over the first-place Aces. Goalie Marc Magliarditi made 21 saves, helping the Wranglers get back to the .500 plateau. Wranglers' centers Jason Bonsignore and Jeff Attard each scored goals and rookie defenseman Tim Hambly added two assists in the victory.

Friday, March 25th

Las Vegas 1 at Alaska 3

Anchorage, AK – The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Alaska Aces 3-1 at Sullivan Arena on Friday night. Alaska forward Chris Minard scored twice to lead the Aces. Aces' goalie Peter Aubry made 19 saves for his 25th victory of the season. NHLer Scott Gomez added to his league lead for assists with two. Wranglers' winger Shawn Limpright scored the lone Las Vegas goal.

Saturday, March 26th

Las Vegas 1 at Alaska 3

Anchorage, AK – The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Alaska Aces 3-1 at Sullivan Arena on Saturday night. Alaska goalie Matt Underhill made 18 saves to lead the Aces to victory. Wranglers' forward Matt Dzeiduszycki scored the lone Las Vegas goal, as the Wranglers played their final road game of the season, finishing up with a 16-16-4 record on the road. Aces' center Scott Gomez set up two goals on the night, adding to his league-leading total of 66 assists and tying him for the overall scoring lead in the ECHL with 77 points.

Wranglers Roster Shuffle

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced numerous trades this past week.

Las Vegas completed a previous trade with Augusta, acquiring center Matt Dzieduszycki (pronounced - zhaydooshitskee). The Wranglers also obtained goalie Colin Zulianello (pronounce – Zoo-Lee-Ah-Nello) in exchange for future considerations from the Idaho Steelheads. In a separate deal, Las Vegas sent goalie Chris Madden's ECHL rights to the Florida Everblades for future considerations. The Wranglers also made a deal with the Alaska Aces sending defenseman Ryan Gaucher to the Aces in exchange for forward Jordan Cameron and future considerations. Las Vegas also added rookie forward Nick Anderson on Tuesday.

Wranglers Weekend Mr. Potato Head Extravaganza

The Las Vegas Wranglers will handout Mr. Potato Heads to the first 2,500 fans (over the age of three) at the Orleans Arena on Saturday night when the Wranglers host the Bakersfield Condors. The first 200 fans to the Port of Subs pre-game party will receive a Mr. Potato Head. Friday, Las Vegas will display their new jerseys for next year on April 1st. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game in a silent auction.

This Week's Opponents-

Fresno Falcons – (36-22-8, 80 Points) – The Wranglers are 1-4-3 against the Falcons this season, including a seven-game winless streak. Fresno is fighting for the fourth and final playoff spot in the west division, trailing Idaho by three points. Fresno and Idaho each have six games remaining on the season. Fresno is led in scoring by Shaun Sutter with 25 goals and 30 assists for 55 points. Fresno is 4-5-1 in their last 10 games.

Victoria Salmon Kings – (14-49-5, 33 Points) – The Kings are 0-5-2 against Las Vegas this season. With four games remaining, Victoria is in a position to tie two league records. If Victoria loses all their remaining games they can tie the league record for fewest wins (14) and most losses (53). Left wing Scott Turner has five goals and five assists for 10 points in his last six games played.

Bakersfield Condors – (38-20-10, 86 Points) – The Wranglers are 4-4-0 against the Condors this season. Saturday's game will decide the season series. The Condors are battling for the second seed in the west division, tied with Long Beach at 86 points a side. Bakersfield is 4-5-1 in their last 10 games played.
