Titans sweep weekend

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans were a perfect two-for-two this weekend as they extended their winning streak to four games.

The Titans closed out the final chapter of the Garden State Cup Series with a 4-3 triumph over the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies on Friday, clinching the last ever Garden State Cup.

Trenton rebounded on the back-end of the series against Toledo with a 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday. The Titans used the extra session against to clinch a 2-1 win over the Reading Royals on Sunday.

Trenton remains alone in third place in the North with 81 points, two points ahead of the Peoria Rivermen and the Toledo Storm and trailing the Reading Royals by one.

The Titans finish their three-game homestand on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:00pm against the Rivermen. They'll travel to Wheeling to face the Nailers on Friday, April 1 at 7:30pm before returning home to take on Peoria again on Saturday, April 2 at 7:00pm.

- B.J. Abel, Leon Hayward and Les Haggett each lit the lamp as the Titans staked a 3-0 lead over the Boardwalk Bullies after one period of play. It was Matt Zultek's goal twenty seconds into the second period that proved to be the game winner as Atlantic City struck for three goals in the final frame to make the score 4-3. That's as close as the Bullies would get as Andrew Allen stopped 32 shots for his 23rd win of the season.

Saturday, March 26 vs. Reading, W 6-2
Sovereign Bank Arena
- Scott Bertoli recorded two goals on the evening, but it was his shorthanded tally in the second period that broke open a 2-2 tie and led the Titans to a 6-2 victory over the Reading Royals. Trenton tied its second highest goal output of the season as Leon Hayward and Rick Kowalsky each added a goal and two assists to the cause.

- The sixth game of seven versus the Rivermen. Peoria remains the lone team in the North Division against which the Titans have yet to record a victory. Trenton trails in the season series, 0-3-2.

Friday, April 1 vs. Wheeling, 7:30pm - 91.3FM-WTSR
WesBanco Arena
- Game eight in the nine-game season series. The Titans registered their first win in seven tries against the Nailers with a 3-0 shutout victory on March 11. Wheeling ranks 2nd in the ECHL with 2.35 goals against per game. The Titans trail the all-time series 10-11-3

Saturday, April 2 vs. Peoria, 7:00pm - 91.3FM-WTSR

- The last ever, regular season contest against Peoria. Rivermen goalie Alfie Michaud has allowed just six goals in going 5-0-0 versus the Titans this season. Trenton is 5-9-4 all-time against Peoria
