Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Kevin Kaminski, announced today the team has traded goaltender Colin Zulianello to San Diego for goaltender David Burleigh. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Burleigh, a 6'0", 170 pound rookie goaltender from North Vancouver, British Columbia has posted strong numbers in his first year in the ECHL. In 19 games, he is 10-6-0 with a 2.63 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. "We have had the opportunity to see him lots this year", said Kaminski. " He's a young kid with a lot of upside." In seven games played against Long Beach this year, Burleigh was 6-0-0 with a 1.71 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

Zulianello, who began the season as the Ice Dogs starting goaltender, had struggled as of late. In 31 games this year, he was 8-15-2 with a 3.58 goals against average, one shutout and a .882 save percentage. "He needed a change of scenery and San Diego was looking for experience", said Kaminski. "He helped us out on and off the ice and was always very professional. We wish him all the best."

The Ice Dogs are off until Sunday, when they will travel to Bakersfield to take on the Condors for the first of a four-game road trip. The Ice Dogs are currently in 6th place in the Pacific Division with 44 points, five points behind the fifth place Condors.
