
Columbia's Schultz and Gwinnett's Jackson Named C&T Hockey Products ECHL Plus Performers of the Mont

PRINCETON, N.J. - Columbia right wing Jesse Schultz and Gwinnett defenseman
Jim Jackson are the C&T Hockey Products ECHL Plus Performers of the
Month for February. Schultz and Jackson each had a plus-minus of +15.
Jackson leads ECHL rookies and is tied for fifth among ECHL defensemen in
plus-minus for the season with +24 while Schultz is tied for fifth among
ECHL rookies with +18.
Under contract to Vancouver of the National Hockey League, the 6-0 and
192-pound Schultz was even or plus in 10 of his 12 games in February while
scoring 17 points (8g-9a) to help Columbia go 8-3-1, improving to 35-17-6
and first place in the Southern Division. In his first professional season,
the 21-year-old Schultz has two hat tricks, four multiple-goal games and
eight multiple-point games and has scored 37 points (20g-17a) in 38 games
with Columbia. Schultz played five seasons in the Western Hockey League
scoring 229 points (110g-119a) in 272 games, including a career-high 53
goals, 51 assists and 104 points in 72 games with Kelowna in 2002-03.
The 5-11 and 170-pound Jackson was plus or even in 10 of his 14 games in
February while scoring 14 points (5g-9a) as Gwinnett went 10-3-1 to improve
to 32-19-5 and third place in the Central Division. In his first
professional season, the 23-year-old Jackson has been plus or even in 42 of
his 55 games while scoring 26 points (11g-15a). Jackson played four seasons
at Northern Michigan University scoring 86 points (22g-64a) in 153 games
from 1999-2003. He also played two seasons with Des Moines in the United
States Hockey League from 1997-99 scoring 45 points (13g-32a) in 95 regular
season games and 14 points (2g-12a) in 24 playoff games.
