Cyclones Salute Local Police and Fire Departments

Cincinnati, OH-The Cincinnati Cyclones are proud to announce that Guns N' Hoses Night is set for this Saturday as the Cyclones battle the Trenton Titans. Cincinnati area police and fire departments will be part of several special activities as the Cyclones salute our local heroes.

As a part of Guns N' Hoses, local fire departments will face off with local police departments in a hockey game at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at U.S. Bank Arena. Anyone with a ticket to the Cyclones' Saturday night game is welcome to arrive early and watch the police vs. fire game. Beginning at 6:15 p.m., CourtTV will be on the concourse to digitally fingerprint young fans. Pre-game activities on the U.S. Bank Arena concourse include K-9 demonstrations. Other pre-game concourse activities include booths hosted by Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), Anderson Township Fire Department Memorial, a Police Recruiting Unit and Fire Prevention. A mounted police patrol and K-9 units will be on the U.S. Bank Arena plaza before the game weather permitting.

During a pre-game ceremony, the International Association of Firefighters will be presenting a check for $20,400 to Dr. Michelle Gottschlich. Gottschlich, a doctor at Shriners Burn Hospital in Cincinnati, is researching the effect of calcium and vitamin D in bone regeneration following a burn.

During the game, Sparky, the Fire Dog, and McGruff, the Crime Dog, will be in attendance to entertain young fans. Fire Safety Clowns will be on the concourse throughout the game. A police vs. fire Tug of War will be a part of the intermission festivities.

In addition, $2 from each ticket sold by a police or fire department will go to charity. Local police are raising money for the Concerns of Police Survivors Fund. Fire departments are raising money for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The Cyclones return home on Friday, March 5th against the Trenton Titans. It 's Columbus Blue Jackets night including prize giveaways from Ohio's only NHL franchise. "The Ref" will also be on hand to entertain fans.
