Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
Bowling Green, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, announced on Tuesday that the organization will work with Best Buy to support flood relief efforts in South Central Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. Best Buy employees will accept supply donations at Bowling Green Ballpark on Saturday, May 15, when the Hot Rods host the Lansing Lugnuts at 7:05 PM.
"The Hot Rods are pleased to work with Best Buy to make a difference," said Brad Taylor, Hot Rods General Manager and CEO. "We strongly encourage fans to participate and help support area relief efforts."
Some of the items requested include bottled water, non-perishable food (such as peanut butter, canned vegetables and soup), masks, contractor bags or heavy duty trash bags, sunscreen, mops, and cleaning supplies. Each fan that makes a donation at the game will be entered into a random drawing for prizes from Best Buy, including gift cards and an Apple iPod Touch.
The Hot Rods are currently in the midst of a six-game road trip to West Michigan and Lake County (Ohio). The team returns home to open a four-game set with the Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays) on Thursday, May 13 at 7:05 PM. Thursday's promotions include Thirsty Thursday presented by Beaver 96.7 FM and All Hit WUHU 107 and Hootiepalooza Night presented by WNKY. Hootiepalooza celebrates the music and birthday of Darius Rucker, country music star and lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, and features a charity raffle for an acoustic guitar autographed by Rucker.
