Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, and Run Competition Set For Saturday May 15th

May 11, 2010 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Dayton Dragons News Release

The Dayton Dragons are set to host the Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, & Run Sectional Competition for the Dayton area on Saturday, May 15th beginning at 9:30 AM at Fifth Third Field.

Pitch, Hit, & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. Local competitions were held beginning in March to provide kids with an opportunity to display their core baseball/softball skills and advance to Saturday's sectional round. The competition is divided into four age divisions per gender: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14.

Approximately 75 entrants from the different local competitions earned high enough scores to qualify for this "invite only" sectional competition at Fifth Third Field.

An All-Around Champion from each age and gender group will be awarded and some may advance to the Team Championships at Great American Ballpark, where they will have a chance to qualify for the National Finals held at the 2010 MLB All-Star Game.
