Hitmen Rally Past Raiders 6-1

Prince Albert, SK - The Calgary Hitmen opened a two-game Saskatchewan road trip with a convincing 6-1 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday night at Art Hauser Centre.

Rookie forward Matteo Danis led the way with two goals and an assist while Oliver Tulk, Blake Heward, Brandon Whynott and Jacob Wright added singles. Captain Riley Fiddler-Schultz chipped in a pair of assists. Tulk now leads the Hitmen in goals with five while his first period tally extended his career high point streak to five games.

Goaltender Brayden Peters also turned in a strong performance for the Hitmen, turning aside 35 Raider shots to lower his goal against average to 2.19 this season. The victory was the first for Calgary in nine tries in Northern Saskatchewan having gone 0-4-3-1 in their previous eight visits to PA.

Evan Herman supplied the lone goal for Prince Albert.

Calgary, now 3-1-1-1, is back on the ice tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 16 in Saskatoon before heading to Red Deer on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The next Hitmen home game is not until Friday, Oct. 21 when the Blades make a return visit to Scotiabank Saddledome in a 7:00 p.m. start.
