Americans Face Chiefs in First Meetings of the Season

Tri-City and Spokane will meet tonight for the first time in their 11-game season series.

Tri-City won five of their 12 meetings against the Chiefs last season, ending their 2021-22 series with Tomas Suchanek earning his first career shut out on March 26 in Kennewick.

The Americans played last night as they fell to the Kamloops Blazers 7-1 at the Toyota Center for their second straight loss. Alex Serraglio netted Tri-City's lone goal of the night, his first of the season, assisted by Parker Bell and Lukas Dragicevic. Nick Avakyan started in net but was relieved by Tomas Suchanek.Tri-City was out shot 35-29. The Americans have had a strong power play to start the season, but faltered in the last two games going 0/5 last night and 0/3 on Wednesday.

Despite struggling over the last two games, Tri-City has been strong on the power play to start the season with 26.7% success on the road, while Spokane's home penalty kill is last in the league at 58.8%. The Americans will look to continue their special teams success tonight and end their two-game losing streak.
