Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE BC - The Prince George Cougars got a late goal from Ryker Singer, but it was too little too late as the Winnipeg ICE scored 4 times, defeating the Cats 4-1 in front of just under 3,000 loud fans at CN Centre.

The ICE were able to get the scoring started courtesy of a Matthew Savoie tap in, in front of the goal to give the ICE the lead just over 13 minutes into the game.

In the second, PG was outshooting the ICE 10-1, but were unable to bury, keeping the game at 1-0. The ICE then countered with three of their own in the second, in under four minutes to make it 4-0.

Prince George added one in the final frame, but proved to be too late as the ICE defeated the Cats by a 4-1 count.

The Cougars hit the road next weekend with two games beginning on Friday against Vancouver and Saturday against Kamloops.
