May 2, 2019 - Western Hockey League (WHL) - Calgary Hitmen News Release

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club selected 10 players including six forwards, three defencemen and one goalie in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft held today in Red Deer, AB.

The Hitmen drafted defenceman Grayden Siepmann (pronounced SEAP-min) with their first pick, 13th overall. The 5-11, 165-pound product of Abbotsford, BC, played with Yale Bantam Prep this past season. He was a point-a-game player in Yale recording 29 points (8g, 21a) in 29 games. He also tallied four points (2g, 2a) in five post-season contests helping his team win the league title.

"Starting with Grayden, we have added a lot of skill and speed to both our forward and defence group and are very excited to land one of the top rated goalies in the draft in Ethan Buenaventura," said Hitmen Director of Player Personnel Dallas Thompson. "Overall there is a lot of potential with this class and we would like to welcome all of our picks to the Hitmen organization."
